The Jacaranda Children’s Choir is an
internationally acclaimed children’s choir. Founded in 1978, the
choir
has established itself as a national asset,
representing all cultural groups, and acting as ambassadors for
South Africa when travelling nationally and abroad.
The choir’s repertoire includes a wide variety of
genres and styles that vary from classical music, jazz and light
music to folk music from around the world, including Africa. The
choir has also performed large scaled works such as
Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang and the St Cecilia Mass by Charles
Gounod.
Nurturing a strong team spirit and shared
values cultivated through friendship, a growing
appreciation for music, as well as transparent
management, exceptional conductors and several highlights and
achievements have contributed to the choir being one of South
Africa’s finest children’s choirs.
